As you know, many facilities have new regulations because of COVID-19. Our gym is no different! Some rules parents may need to be aware of are:
Please do not enter this facility if either you OR YOUR FAMILY have: been ill with any spreadable sickness (e.g. a cold, pink eye, strep throat, etc.), have symptoms consistent with those of COVID-19, suspect that you have been exposed to someone with suspected/lab-confirmed COVID-19 in the prior 14 days, been OUTSIDE OF THE ATLANTIC PROVINCES (based on vaccination status: see document below), OR TO AN EXPOSURE SITE WITHIN THE LAST 14 DAYS.
Athletes are not to leave unauthorized personal equipment in the gym.
Athletes are to have their own water bottle. They are not to share personal equipment.
Everyone must sanitize their hands when entering the facility.
Staff members will monitor the gymnasts inside the facility and ensure hands are regularly cleaned.
Please remind your athlete of the importance of hand washing and not touching their face.
Masks are required upon entry of our facility and may be removed during training. Masks left at the gym will be discarded. Children under the age of 12 and individuals with a medical condition preventing them from wearing masks are exempt.
There is no viewing for any of our classes. Therefore, no parents are allowed in the gym other than participants of the Parent & Tot program. Only one parent or guardian is permitted to attend with each Parent and Tot participant to ensure they follow physical distancing protocols. Parents are not required to wear a mask while in the gym as long as they are able to maintain a two (2) metre distance.
A ten (10) minute drop off window is in place. Parents are to drop athletes off at the front door. The door will be opened 5 minutes prior to class start time and remain open 5 minutes after class starts. The entrance door will then be locked to ensure proper entry protocols and sanitizing is followed. Do not enter unless there is a supervisor to let you in. At the end of class, coaches will bring athletes out the exit door at the front of the gym where parents/guardians can pick up their child
Waivers and declarations must be accepted online before athletes are permitted to enter our facility. All members and staff must abide by the declaration of compliance at all times. A copy of the most up-to-date declaration of compliance is available on the GNS website.
